Bellefonte history teacher Edward L. Pierce distinguished himself among area teachers of the 1950s and 1960s. He is remembered fondly by those he taught, and he donated student projects to our historical collections.

Recently, his daughter donated his photographs to our museum, and we present part of that collection in honor of Women’s History Month 2023. These women are largely unidentified here, but they were important people to many relatives, friends, and coworkers in their day. We hope that you enjoy this window into their very individual pasts, while remembering those women who preceded you and enriched your own lives today.
